Working as the development director to re-purpose derelict commercial and industrial buildings, Geoff aimed to convert such structures into modern functional buildings as well as new build offices and warehouses. He was involved in the procurement of specialist consultants and contractors, the design of developments and the delivery of the end product. Geoff worked on various large-scale construction projects such as Heathrow Express, Aurora Hotel and National Physical Laboratories located within London. He managed differing construction packages such as civil works, ground works, in-situ and pre cast concrete, steel works and direct labour. As a construction manager, he was responsible for the day to day management of the site and responsible for project delivery. He worked closely with various internal departments such as: planning and commercial departments for up to date project reports involving programme and costs, health and safety, logistics including cranage, engineering, MEP and external specialist consultants and contractors. John Laing Construction London, UK Geoff, along with a dedicated team, played a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of an expansive three-storey air side hotel project. This intricate undertaking encompassed the fit out of 166 keys, including F&B areas, back-of-house facilities, and receptions. Executed through a design, bid, build approach, PMKConsult employed a traditional procurement process to secure the General Contractor (GC) for the project. The ongoing fit out reflects the meticulous attention to detail and project management acumen demonstrated by Geoff and the team. Geoff brings nearly 30 years of comprehensive expertise in multidisciplinary project management within the construction industry to PMKConsult. His proven track record includes the successful delivery of numerous large-scale and intricate projects spanning diverse sectors in both the UK and UAE. Specialising in large-scale residential developments and high-end retail projects, Geoff has demonstrated leadership in steering complex initiatives. He has overseen various construction sites, playing a pivotal role in the meticulous selection of suppliers and ensuring efficient procurement processes. Collaborating closely with planning departments, health and safety, and logistics departments, Geoff provides accurate project feedback, establishes safe working environments, and adeptly manages project costs and timelines.
Undertaking roles within property development, Geoff handled commercial feasibility studies, land sourcing and purchase of sites. He liaised with financial institutions for funding and commissioned independent architects and commercial consultants and handled other stakeholder procurement requirements. He managed the delivery programme, construction management and handover and carried out a multifaceted discipline which focused on quality, on-time delivery, and cost management.
Geoff worked as the construction manager on a 40-villa development in Abu Dhabi. His role was to ensure that all site activities were undertaken in line with the contract and for implementing safe working procedures. Overall responsibilities included construction, HSE, design management and day-to-day monitoring of site activities.
