Burger King UK

As a well-known and popular brand in the UK, Burger King already holds a strong set of build standards and suppliers that they rely on to realise the design. Nicola worked as an external Project Manager on the client side, due to the fast track projects often taking around 8 weeks to complete with 3-4 on site. Her role executed precise coordination and communication, with expert problem solving. Projects that have spanned the UK, in drive thru and high street settings. As a brand that was new to the UK from America, Nicola has been able to provide invaluable support in line with UK standards whilst ensuring the brands look and feel remains. Close communication with site teams has been essential as the design team bring in late stage changes to develop the brands UK vision, this is common practice as brands work on their reception in the UK. Nicola showcased her experience here to keep the project running within budget and timeline. Popeyes UK Continuing the success with other brands from the US, Nicola has been working with Wendy’s to deliver their food offer throughout the UK. Her key responsibilities include comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, resource requirements, and key milestones. Furthermore, she monitored project expenditures, provided regular financial reports to stakeholders, and implemented cost control measures to prevent budget overrun. A brand with a great deal of potential, having already proven their success with the one offering in London and has hopes to build on that. After a lengthy search, with W Hiles assistance two further locations were decided upon and Nicola provided a complete project management and quantity surveying service from start to finish. Nicola is a senior member of the commercial and project management team at WHP with a distinguished career marked by comprehensive expertise in overseeing a diverse array of construction projects across the Food and Beverage (F&B), Commercial, Retail, Residential, Culture, Hospitality, and Leisure sectors. Her knowledge is often called upon by the whole team as a construction expert and has demonstrated a proven ability to navigate the complexities of various industries. Nicola brings a wealth of experience in delivering successful outcomes through meticulous quantity surveying and strategic project management. With a keen eye for detail and an in-depth understanding of industry-specific cost drivers, Nicola consistently contributes to the financial success of projects by implementing cost- effective solutions without compromising on quality.

Being a high-end restaurant chain each location has a bespoke design to a fine detail. Both Oxford and Kings Rd projects had new designer collaboration one of which being based in Denmark, as such Nicola’s realisation of the project on site was vital to achieving the design and keeping it on the budget.

MOD Pizza is a US brand with ambitions to open locations across the UK, they faced challenges when trying to keep their design on a like for like basis with the US restaurants, both in budget and availability. With Nicola’s help, they were able to build to UK standards without losing what the US locations had to offer.
