Jeddah Metro Jedda, KSA

Jeddah Metro is an integrated urban masterplan for the 23rd century that outlines a completely unified design vision of the city’s transport system, that will act as a catalyst for urban growth. This project was a joint venture between F+P and Arcadis and was Ben’s first experience working in a large multi-discipline team on a fast-track schedule with a hugely aspirational client team. He gained invaluable experience in appreciation for creating a sensitive cultural and climatic response to form an instantly recognisable image for a visionary new transportation plan. Ben led the internal team from the original bid supporting a development manager led pitch, through to the next stage of an architectural design competition. When the building’s owner changed, a successful re-pitch secured this exciting new project typology which exemplifies aspirational sustainable development within a sensitive and historic city centre.

Ben’s team was commissioned to identify and appraise options for the development of a new multi-modal transport hub, producing the reference design and outline business case.
