Abbie is part of the team responsible for the delivery of commercial management services from the tendering phase which includes the evaluation of bids submitted for the redevelopment of Al Raha Gardens Plaza.
Abbie is an experienced Quantity Surveyor with over nine years of knowledge gained in the construction and real estate sectors in residential markets within the United Kingdom. She led the development of electronic cost reporting and subsequently responsible for collating copies of bi-monthly valuation and quarterly board reports, this allowed for faster, cost effective and more sustainable distribution of reports as well as easier amendments post- meeting and made reviewing easier due to the ability to zoom in on data sheets and add comments/ bookmarks. Abbie was also interested in technological advances in construction such as MMC and sustainable design/ construction. Abbie embraces working with others to learn different skill sets and share ideas to achieve the best outcome.
DFS AUH Midfield Terminal fit out Abu Dhabi, UAE
She is responsible for commercial aspects between client and contractors for the fit out of 29 retail units and a 5,000 sqm lounge at Abu Dhabi airport’s new Midfield Terminal. Responsibilities include procurement of contractors and suppliers, collation of contract documents, tender evaluation reports and post contract commercial supervision which includes, variation and claims management, tracking of progress and spend against budget and risk management. Abbie acts as the lead commercial manager providing pre and post contract services which includes cashflow management, attendance at meetings with the project team and third parties to monitor progress, resolve problems and implement actions to maintain the project budget. Abbie’s role also included preparing documentation for contract execution and issuing the letter of award. The project involves the delivery of c. 2,000 sqm of GFA of office space within an existing warehouse facility. DFS New HQ, DFS Group Abu Dhabi, UAE
Abbie was a successful commercial project manager of two assigned residential developments comprising 205 units (85 units Bloxham, Oxfordshire and 120 units Cranleigh, Surrey). Moreover, she was also in charge of the procurement of a further 233 units (Chichester, West Sussex) for site commencement in 2021. From the preparation of tender documents to assigning contracts, Abbie ensured the completion of the tendering process to be on time. Subcontractor packages agreed in line with land acquisition budget.
Abbie was the Site Surveyor for developments of 85 (Epsom, Surrey) and 89 units (Odiham, Hampshire). She was regular on on-site progress assessments of developments and plots due to be completed and managing the day-to-day running of the sites. She handled site valuation, preparing, issuing, and analysing trade tenders. Abbie also evaluated variation requests, placing customer extra orders and reviewing/ approving subcontractor payments and applications for payment.
